I thought it would be a nice change to do something different from my poetry and occasional musings, so I decided to accept this weeks photo challenge. The theme is Unique and I think this photo of mine captures it perfectly. There is a small city in the state of Washington that has a fondness for it’s squirrel population. They grew tired of the sweet little creatures being run over by unyielding cars and trucks and a citizen, Amos Peters, decided to do something about it. Thus the Nutty Narrows Squirrel Bridge was “born” in 1963. Upon Peters’ death in 1984, a ten-foot wooden squirrel sculpture was placed near the bridge in his memory.
If this is not the epitome of unique.. I do not know what is, because I have certainly never seen anything like it.
